Call for committee members: deadline 14 November

News

Modernist Network Cymru is looking to elect its first executive committee.

The Network would like to invite expressions of interest from those who are considering standing on the MoNC committee. This is an excellent opportunity to help shape the future of this new Network.

In the first instance, we are hoping to fill the following positions: Chair, Treasurer, Secretary, Online, and Postgraduate Representative, but we are keen to hear from anybody who would like to get involved. It is not necessary to run for one of these positions; we hope to have a number of positions for committee members ‘without portfolio’, that is, for those who want to get involved without taking on a formal position or role.

Enquiries are welcomed from postgraduates, early-career researchers and academics from across Wales. We want the committee to be as representative as possible, so we want to include individuals from all institutions in Wales. We are particularly looking to foster links with other groups and organisations (AWWE, the David Jones Centre, CREW, BAMS etc.), as well as across many different fields and disciplines (art, architecture, design, English and/or Welsh literature, history, music, fashion, culture, theory).

We anticipate that the committee will meet in person once or twice a year at rotating venues across Wales (usually in conjunction with other events or conferences). The majority of communication will take place via email. For more information on the committee or what specific roles will entail, please contact Emma West (weste[at]cardiff.ac.uk) by Friday 14 November.
